2026 Wardrobe Post
Welcome to my humble wardrobe post… *lightning crackles*
This is the first year that I’ve done a wardrobe post because I always feel like my collection is incomplete in some key areas to make it functional enough to show off, but if you don’t mind that it is small, please enjoy~
This is my beast of a wardrobe. It is an antique Victorian wardrobe made of solid mahogany that I got from Facebook Marketplace. It took 4 adults to lift because of how giant and heavy it is. It holds all of my lolita and goth and practical clothes. There is a set of drawers inside where I store headwear and socks. I’d like to put a shoe rack in too for extra storage, but I am nowhere close to filling it anytime soon.
Moi-Même-Moitié EGL-07049 blouse
release year: 1999 or 2000
I love this blouse. It is sheer so it comes with a cami underneath that is very cropped so I usually end up with a tiny triangle of skin showing unless I wear my skirt up to my ribs lol. I imagine that is how early MmM lolitas achieved that signature long leg silhouette.
Moi-Même-Moitié rose ruffle blouse
release year: 2001
This photo absolutely does not do it justice and for that I am very sorry (the camera I am using is borrowed and I don’t know how to work it). I tried three times to get a decent photo and every time it was too blurry so I gave up. I am on a deadline after all. In real life this is a beautiful romantic delicate lace blouse. The modest shape reminds me of antique mourning wear. The neckline is not tall enough to cause me sensory issues. The covered buttons at the back and cuffs also make it feel old fashioned. The only downside of this blouse, which doesn’t bother me, is that the thin cotton material is perpetually wrinkly no matter how much I steam it. I have been meaning to try it with a bustier top similar to how it is styled on Misako in the GLB ad, but I don’t currently own one.
Peace Now large collar blouse
release year: unknown
I bought this for the summer because it is cotton and flowy and it has been so useful. The fit is androgynous so I can wear it with casual goth looks too. It reminds me of Alice Auaa pieces but way less expensive.
Putumayo headdress girl cutsew
release year: 2001
I never thought I could own a Putumayo cutsew print like this because they get snapped up so quickly. I secured it on Xianyu and the seller was the one who had bought the mercari listing of this top a year prior which I had been so disappointed to have missed. So take heart that even if something you desire gets sold, it can still make its way back to you <3
This cutsew is adorable and so soft and I love the little cross detail. Unfortunately, I think I will end up selling it because it is just too small for me to feel confident in. So far I have been wearing it with a cardigan buttoned up so that only the collar and cross part is peeking out, which has worked but it isn’t always practical. Moi-Même-Moitié cross round collar cutsew
release year: 2001
Moi-Même-Moitié cross lace petticoat
release year: 2000
My first MmM main piece purchase and the lolita item I would save first in a fire. It is my absolute favourite. It is fully shirred and comfortable, has the most stunning cross lace and is the perfect length. I could not ask for more. At the time it was my most expensive lolita purchase (around £230) but I think it could go for double that now. In any case, it was very worth it.
Moi-Même-Moitié summer rose skirt
release year: 2001
This skirt was a miracle purchase. I was on mercari at just the right time and bought it without any issues for a total of £30. This was in 2022 or 2023 when prices were still very high, so it really was a case of luck. I think it is so elegant and makes me want to attend a summer garden party or tea in a botanical greenhouse.
Moi-Même-Moitié EGL-04031 skirt
release year: 2000
I really want to recreate a certain street snap with this skirt. It isn’t in perfect condition (some of the lace has yellowed) but I still love it. There is a Victorian Maiden cardigan that I desperately want because it has large rose lace that I think would match this one perfectly, but we’ll see how that goes. I remember seeing a friend of mine (Bo) coord the JSK version and it looked great.
Offbrand asymmetrical long skirt
I wear this skirt often as casual clothes (you can tell by the wrinkles) but it has EGA potential so i’m including it here for when I do coord it properly.
Kazuko Ogawa 0012 velveteen OP
release year: 2004 or earlier
The lolibrary entry for this dress records the release date as 2004, which I got off her website, but it’s always hard to know with Kazuko Ogawa pieces because she rereleased lots of designs that existed before the website. It might be earlier because it is the old tag (black and pink) but I can’t be sure. I received this in a trade again from my friend Bo and it is STUNNING and so gothic but… it is with a heavy heart that I plan on parting with her because I just don’t wear velveteen OPs. They are too warm for me with my current medication and i’m scared of getting them dirty so i’ve worn it maybe once, which is too much of a shame.
Moonrise Theater pintuck short sleeve OP
release year: 2019
A recent purchase from just before halloween of 2025. I bought it secondhand but it is relatively new. Something about the collar and the pintucks reminded me of the brand Fairy Wish. It’s basic but sensible and cute, and I like that I don’t have to worry about handwashing it. I want to coord it with a cute apron!
Moi-Même-Moitié rose op
release year: 2002
A dream dress of mine. Strangely, when I started out as an old school MmM enthusiast, I wasn’t a fan of this op. I saw the top lace panel as a weaker version of a nun collar. But now I appreciate its simplicity. I think seeing it worn helped me to visualise it in my coords. I wore this to see Kaya in Paris and had many lolitas ask about it ahaha. I do feel badly that dresses like these are not easily accessible! (I dug this out of the laundry pile for this blog post so it isn’t looking its best *sweats*).
MAM rose jacquard satin JSK
release year: 2004
I bought this from my friend Bree a few years ago for practically nothing. It has considerable damages- the elastic on the back shirring has died, and I have replaced the buttons on the straps multiple times. It originally had white lace at the top that was discoloured so I dyed it black which I liked better in the first place (it has faded from washing and I need to re-do it!) but it holds it place as the one JSK in my wardrobe, though I wear it as a summer dress without a blouse. It’s a very pretty rose fabric, and is a midi length that makes it look more mature than my usual minis.
Kazuko Ozawa cape 03
release year: 2003
Finally, a proper piece of outerwear! It is fabulous and hits just the right length on my arms. The cherub buttons are the exact same design as a necklace I have from her (which you will see further down) so I can never separate them. The cherub tag is so precious too.
Vivienne Westwood cardigan
release year: 1990s
Shamefully, this has been in my repair pile for almost 2 years now. I have another offbrand cashmere black cardigan that I wear in the meantime because I need to darn the holes I made after I got too enthusiastic with de-bobbling. For once, the small holes are not the work of moths. I bought this to wear to The Queen Is Dead in 2024 and paid for expedited shipping which thankfully pulled through in time. I am missing a few key pieces of outerwear such as a coat of any kind. I don’t know how I have managed 6ish years of lolita without ever owning one. This year I will see it through.
Moi-Même-Moitié bat handbag (real leather)
release year: 2000
Last years’ purchase. I somehow didn’t have to pay customs fees even though it did exceed the UK’s £135 value limit. Maybe they were too focused on sorting out the US tariff situation to care about mine. This was a dream item of mine- specifically the real leather version because I couldn’t deal with the faux leather deteriorating and I don’t think the nylon one looks as good. It was pretty beat up when it arrived but with some leather polish the scratches are a lot less noticeable.
Vintage angel wing trunk bag
release year: 1990s
I’m obsessed with trunk bags and this one had the bonus of a quirky little winged heart plate with an S in the middle. I sadly don’t know what brand this is. I bought it off depop and it arrived reeking of cigarettes which the seller had failed to mention, who then gave me a 1 star review in retaliation to my 3 stars, so that’s nice. I aired it out for weeks and put fabric sachets inside so that now it smells faintly of washing powder rather than smoke.
Heart E angel rucksack
release year: 1998
This is the real Heart E version, but i’ve seen lots of lolitas DIY their own rucksack which looks just as good! I was originally going to keep the devil wing version but I backed out and begged to keep this one instead. It is a better contrast with my wardrobe so I am satisfied with my choice.
JPG large doctor bag (mens)
release year: 1990s
I use this for travelling. It is truly huge and can easily fit a laptop, textbooks, clothes and whatever else. Gaultier bags are beautiful. I wish I could own every design. This bag was featured in Alice Doll so I would consider it to be lolita-adjacent.
Moi-Même-Moitié gothic headdress
release year: 2000
My favourite headdress. I like a large headdress, I think it is the most flattering and doll-like for lolita.
Moi-Même-Moitié girl headdress
release year: 2000
A black x white rectangle headdress is essential for all oldschool lolitas. This one I had wanted for a long time. Like the previous one, it is wired so you can mould it to your head shape, which I prefer to flat headdresses.
Black more Dark synthetic leather bat headdress
release year: 2002
A very rare purchase! Black more Dark is an indie accessories brand from the 2000s that I think is still active occasionally on twitter. This headdress is old but the synthetic leather has not deteriorated or become gross and sticky. I recorded the date as 2002 because I saw a photo of this headdress for sale at an Alamode Night lolita event in that year. So exciting to have a small piece of lolita history that probably no one cares about except for me. I have a ring that matches it which you will see further down.
Greedy dolls rose round headdress (modified)
release year: 2000s
Greedy Dolls is a defunct indie brand from the early 2000s. This headdress originally had two squashed black roses, one velvet and one a plastic fake rose, but they were in poor shape and I removed them only to find that underneath was 20 years of solid immovable glue. I did my best to pry it off but ended up gluing a nicer velvet haberdashery rose on top to cover it up. I am pleased with the result, and I love the romantic veil and original lace.
Boys Heart E devil hat
release year: 2000s
I don’t wear this in lolita, but it is from a lolita brand so I thought I would include it.
Alice Auaa weird hat
release year: 2000 or earlier
Bought on auction for the grand price of £2.95 because the seller couldn’t read the label (fair). It is made of some type of wool like mohair which I wasn’t expecting. It is nice and warm and I plan to use it in a more unconventional gothic FRUiTs type coord.
dok1226/ DOK lace wrist cuffs
release year: 2025
My first purchase from this indie Korean brand whose name I might be getting wrong. I would highly highly recommend. The quality and customer service are both excellent. They are custom made to your measurements which I really appreciate because I have such a hard time finding gloves that fit. The torn lace at the bottom is a really nice edgy touch.
MAM rose coffin embroidery neck tie (2004)
& Ba-tsu Kyo tie (2000s)
The Maxicimam tie is probably my oldest remaining item in my wardrobe from my ouji past. I don’t wear ties often but the embroidery is too good to part with. I love anything to do with coffins. I have good memories of wearing the Ba-tsu tie at a Diru concert in london a few years ago.
La Luice bunny bag charm
release year: ???
I bought this secondhand from a seller who had been using it to hang off a lampshade for a long time. I don’t know anything about it, but it is too large to be a keyring and too small to be a pochette. He is a good companion.
Unknown indie brand feather brooch
release year: 2002
So pretty! The seller bought it at a lolita event in 2002 but didn’t know the brand as the lid for the box that it came in is missing. The card that you can see on the right shows the original care details (warning that the feathers are dyed and so might transfer) but I kept it as a potential clue to its origin.
Atelier Box classical lace choker
release year: 2002
I need more chokers. I love to wear them with square necklines. This particular one is quite heavy meaning that the cross pendant weighs the lace down a bit so it doesn’t stay flush against my neck, but that is a minor issue.
Moi-Même-Moitié logo cross pendant
release year: 2000 or 2006
I know the lighting is messed up for these but I could not be bothered to retake them. It is a matte silver and not black like how it appears in this photo! I wear it often.
Handmade Malice Mizer bat rosary
I saw another lolita and MDM fan do this and had to recreate *let me find the blog again*
Alchemy Gothic bat necklace
release year: 1999
It is shorter than the other necklaces so is good for layering.
Kazuko Ogawa cherub pendant
release year: 2000
Features in the first GLB in the section illustrated by Mitsukazu Mihara, which makes it extra special. There is a real weight to it. The colour is more of a gunmetal silver than a true silver. It matches the buttons on the cape I mentioned previously.
Virtu More rose chain necklace
release year: 2025
I only realised after I had uploaded it that this photo shows the broken chain part. It broke on its first wear on boxing day and I need to repair it. The quality of Virtu More and Suppurate System pieces have always been hit or miss, but I still am in love with this necklace. It is very similar to a Suppurate System necklace from 2001, but because they are made of resin the ones that remain today are usually yellowed from age, so this is an improvement.
Moi-Même-Moitié cross ring
release year: 2000
The seller didn’t mention that this is MmM but I recognised it right away. Now I need the earrings and choker to match.
Beauty:Beast rose thorn ring
release year: ???
A very dainty ring. Thorn motifs are very underrated. I was happy to find that it was my size as it was a gamble. I think this may be from the late 90s but I am not sure.
Alchemy Gothic ivy cross ring
release year: 2000
Sorry for the poor photograph. Mana fans may know that he wore this ring in a few of the GLB shoots of the 2000s. It reminds me of an overgrown graveyard.
Black more Dark bat ring
release year: ???
Matches the headdress I showed previously. I am not sure when this was made or what material it is, but I enjoy it a lot.
From left to right- Vivienne Westwood OTKs (1998), Metamorphose OTKs (2010),
Queen's xxx OTKs & sock toppers (modified, 2000s), Moi-Même-Moitié OTKs (2003)
A tragedy occurred with the VW socks where they got mixed into the regular laundry when I meant to handwash them. They were already delicate but they got caught in the washing machine and lots of the threads at the top have unravelled. I need to send them to be repaired but it hurts my heart to look at them. I only included photos of brand socks even though I usually wear unbranded plain OTKs or fishnets, but they aren’t that interesting. I only wear OTKs. I have tried UTKs in the past but I don’t think they suit me.
The Queen’s xxx socks are too big for me but I hang on to them because they go with the sock toppers which are cute. I modified them to make more wearable by replacing the ribbons with elastic so that they stay up.
Offbrand patent Mary Jane platforms
release year: 2020
I have actually budgeted for a good pair of platform boots but have yet to buy any- though I might buy a pair of Fluevogs. These mary janes are currently my only lolita shoe, but they are a good basic.
Moi-Même-Moitié coffin cellphone strap (2000)
& teddy bear keyring (2003)
Moi-Même-Moitié gothic arch notepad (2005?)
& blue rose fan (2020) & original print pouch (2003)
Moi-Même-Moitié frill bat umbrella (2002)
I know lots of lolitas own this, but no one seems to have brought up how giant it is. I don’t have anything to compare it to since it is my first and only parasol, but it really is huge. I’m looking for a portable one for travel that doesn’t take up as much room.
♔ Disclaimer: this is my wardrobe after 6ish years of collecting lolita. Some things were expensive and some things were cheap. Some needed modified and some did not work out at all. Part of the joy of lolita is the collecting aspect that takes years to accumulate. There is no instant gratification in this hobby. It forces you to wait patiently for the right thing to come along. I am still curating it to be completely wearable- comfort is the ultimate goal for me, while not compromising on aesthetics- but you never know what these next few years will bring. I wish you all many happy coords ♔

This was such a satisfying read, what a perfect example of a cohesive, curated capsule wardrobe! ♡ The commitment to mostly having items from a very specific time period is impressive, and turns your wardrobe into a sort of time capsule, I love that. (I have no idea how to word this without using the word "capsule" twice...)
